Artist in Residence Programs

Since 2013, Artback NT has been delivering a vibrant suite of Artist in Residence Programs, enabling artists to spend time in the thriving, artistic, community and cultural hub of Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory. Successful candidates are able to embark on a concentrated period of studio activity and artistic research of up to six weeks.

The following dynamic arts residencies are supported by Artback NT –

Kerjasama (Collaborate) – a reciprocal residency between Australian Indigenous and Indonesian artists facilitated in partnership with Asialink

Emerging NT Artist in Residence – for NT-based artists

National Artist in Residence – for Australian artists based outside the NT

The Kerjasama residency takes place annually, while the Emerging NT and National Artist in Residence programs take place in alternating years.
